Reem Aly has served as the Executive Director of the Ohio School-Based Health Alliance (Ohio Alliance) since August 2022. As the organization’s first-ever, full-time Executive Director, Reem is responsible for driving the growth and sustainability of the statewide organization and advancing high-quality, school-based health care models to support the health and success of Ohio’s children, families, schools, and communities. Reem brings many years of policy, advocacy, research, data, and leadership experience to the Ohio Alliance. Throughout her career, Reem has led numerous state-wide, multi-sector initiatives focused on improving maternal and child health, bridging health care and population health, and health equity.
Previously, Reem was Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer at Groundwork Ohio and spent a decade in leadership roles at the Health Policy Institute of Ohio. Her other experiences include work with Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Bricker & Eckler, LLC, and OCLC. She has also served on various boards and committees, including the Ohio Domestic Violence Network Board, the Executive Advisory Committee for the Ohio Alliance for Innovation in Population Health, and the Ohio Commission on Minority Health Medical Expert Panel. Reem holds a Juris Doctorate and Master of Health Administration, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations, all from The Ohio State University.
Katherine Bissett, BSN, RN

Katherine serves as the Ohio Alliance’s Director of Initiatives, providing leadership and oversight to the organization’s capacity building, technical assistance, and outreach programming. Katherine brings extensive experience to the Ohio Alliance, spending the last decade of her career developing equity focused school-based health programs in Maryland and Ohio. She has designed her career to focus on being a partner and ally to her patients and families. Her prior roles include working with MetroHealth System’s School Health Program, John Hopkins University Rales Health Center, and most recently serving as an independent SBHC consultant with the Ohio Alliance. Katherine is also currently an instructor at the Case Western School of Nursing. Katherine is a graduate of the University of Richmond and the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing.
At home in Shaker Heights, Ohio, Katherine enjoys hiking, traveling, reading, and cooking with her four children, two dogs and husband Scott.
Rachael Schilling, PhD
Program Manager

Rachael Schilling serves as the Program Manager for the Ohio Alliance, managing Ohio Alliance collaboratives, programming, and data collection and evaluation efforts. She also supports the Ohio Alliance’s communication channels, including the organization’s social media accounts and newsletter. Rachael comes from an academic background, where she gained experience in quantitative and qualitative research, data management, and data visualization.
Through her work in graduate school, she developed an interest in community well-being and health equity, especially among youth. Rachael holds both a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice and a Master of Science in criminal justice from the University of Cincinnati, as well as a PhD in criminology from the University of Delaware.

Ohio Alliance Interns
Grace Wang

Grace is joining the Ohio Alliance for the Fall 2025 Academic Semester. Grace is a senior at Duke University majoring in chemistry. Her experiences in both health care and education have sparked an interest in children’s health equity and community-centered care. She is excited to explore how school-based health care can improve medical and educational outcomes for youth in Ohio.
Ayoola Adewuyi

Ayoola is joining the Ohio Alliance for the Fall 2025 Academic semester. Ayoola is an undergraduate student at The Ohio State University. Ayoola plans to graduate with a degree in Public Health, specializing in sociology, with hopes to enter into the medical field to become a physician. Ayoola is from Missouri but has lived in different countries and states. She is passionate about community service, health, and making sure that people have what they need to live and succeed. Through her internship with the Ohio Alliance, Ayoola hopes to gain a stronger understanding of school-based health and the policies that impact the well-being and education of children and adolescents.

Ohio Alliance Academic Internships
The Ohio Alliance offers academic internship opportunities to undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in learning about school-based health care, healthcare administration, public health, health and education policy, and nonprofit operations – including administration, resource development and communications. Interns can work on a variety of projects and initiatives at the Ohio Alliance including quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, literature review, developing policy briefs and factsheets, stakeholder engagement, partnership building, advocacy and communications.
